Located in the friendly small town community of Madrona, Smallish is a "jewelbox" space with high-end and intentional touches throughout. Providing a laid back and low-key atmosphere, we take care of the details and make it easy for you to enjoy a fun and memorable photoshoot experience.

Christina Shires - Founder & Photographer

A Seattle native, Christina had the biggish dream to open a smallish photo studio. With a background in brand development, product marketing, and non-profit work, Christina wanted to join her love for composing things of beauty with her professional experience developing small, meaningful brands. Through Smallish, Christina serves families who want classic portrait artwork to commemorate this time in their lives. She enjoys hiking, traveling all over the world, renovating her old farmhouse, and practicing Italian.

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Katie has worked in almost all of the roles at the studio, including Marketing and Client Care. She loves jelly beans and label makers and is passionate about creating special things. She first discovered Smallish as a client and fell in love with the studio and its mission. Her rowdy crew of three adore having their photos taken at Smallish, and their portraits are displayed all over her home!

    Miki provides exceptional service and care to all our clients, ensuring your time at Smallish is meaningful and everlasting. She has a background in photographing dancers, dance productions, families, and events. Miki and her husband Ryan have three children who enjoy playing baseball, dancing, and riding horses.

    PRODUCTION MANAGER

    Kimberly is responsible for turning portraits into final products that our clients will cherish. Her background working at the Museum of History and Industry managing large-scale projects, volunteers, and exhibits honed her eye for design and ability to focus on details that impact customer experience. Outside of work, Kimberly likes to spend time with her wife and 2-year-old daughter in any Seattle park that has a playground.
